Jennifer Aniston For Arrested Development Movie?

With claims of a semi-completed script by series creator Mitch Hurwitz: “We’re writing it; we’re halfway through…It’s not going to be a big money maker…It’s going to be fun, like a family reunion – the rumour mill surrounding Arrested Development’s long delayed big screen adaptation has once again hit overdrive. Which member of the original cast is holding out this time? It’s Michael Cera isn’t it? How ungrateful can one dude be? Who’s guest starring? Will Tobias and Gob reprise their roles at Gobias Industries? Etc, etc, etc.

And while pundits continue to speculate wildly on the silver screen fate of this decade’s best sitcom, the series straight man and serial Jennifer Aniston co-star, Jason Bateman, has casually dropped a casting rumour which may upset the purists. Says Bateman of Jennifer Aniston, the co-star of his most recent film The Switch: “Yeah, actually, there’s a real good part for [Aniston] in the Arrested Development movie…[Creator Mitch Hurwitz] has got half the script written. He’s gotta finish the second half and then the studio’s gotta love it and the cast’s gotta love it and we all have to have time to do it… It’s happening.

This of course, could just be some kind of marketing ploy to drum up interest in The Switch. In which case, I bite my thumb at you Sir for shamelessly parlaying media interest in Arrested Development into media inches for an actress who’s best known for her even more famous ex-husband and a none to memorable haircut circa 1990 something. Jennifer Aniston is about as funny as a house fire but at least the AD script is coming along right?
