Pump Rules Villain Jax Taylor Has Revealed The Show Was Bullshit And [Fake Gasp Of Surprise]

While it’s fun to participate in the collective delusion that The Real Housewives and its adjacent shows are in any way real, it’s also fun when one of the stars comes along and pops the TV bubble, which Jax Taylor of Vanderpump Rules just did in a big way.

The former villain, who announced his departure from the show last December along with his wife Brittany Cartwright, hopped on Instagram Live this week to answer questions from fans, and naturally, he was asked about Pump Rules.

Jax Taylor famously tended bar at Lisa Vanderpump‘s Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR), but on his Insta live, he revealed that he was only a bartender there for the first four years on the job, and that he faked the remaining five for the cameras. He said:

“I put in nine years. It’s a long time to be lying to the fans. Because it’s not true. A lot of the stuff I was doing was just not real.”

When asked what bartenders typically make at Sexy Unique Restaurant (I will literally never get tired of calling it that), Jax was also hilariously circumspect, saying:

“I don’t know what the bartenders make at SUR, to be honest. I haven’t bartended there in three to four years, so I don’t know.”

Sexy Unique Restaurant reopened in February after closing down for COVID, and Jax Taylor said that at least some people legitimately work there, like manager Peter Madrigal, which I suppose is necessary for the place to function.

As for how he was portrayed on the show, Jax played the old ‘villain edit’ card, a classic of reality TV ne’er-do-wells, saying: “The show is highly edited. All they did was show me blow up and go crazy all the time.”
