James Corden Gets Emotional In Response To Fat Shaming From Rival Host

James Corden has hit out with a scathing and emotional response to fellow talk show host Bill Maher, after his rival called for fat shaming to “make a comeback”.

On a recent episode of his HBO show Real Time, Maher said:

“We have gone to this weird place where fat is good. It’s pointing out that fat is unhealthy, that’s what’s bad. Fat shaming doesn’t need to end. It needs to make a comeback. Some amount of shame is good.”

On a recent episode of his own show, James Corden said that he was surprised at the remarks, given that they shoot in the same building and Maher has always been “pleasant ” with him.

He then went in on the comments, saying:

“There’s a common and insulting misconception that fat people are stupid and lazy and we’re not. We get it. We know that being overweight isn’t good for us and I’ve struggled my entire life with trying to manage my weight and I suck at it.”

He continued:

“We’re not all as lucky as Bill Maher. We don’t all have a sense of superiority that burns 35,000 calories a day… Fat-shaming is just bullying and bullying only makes the problem worse.”

Piggybacking off his rival’s comments about being too overweight to see your dick, the host responded: “Believe me, I can see a dick.” You can see his segment below:
