Noted iced tea drinker Hugh Jackman is apparently in talks with Bollywood producers about the possibility of starring in their films.
The move comes after Jackman danced to a popular Hindi film track with Indian megastar Shah Rukh Khan following a panel discussion which addressed the increasing impact of Bollywood on global cinema. Said Jackman: “I am looking forward to working in Bollywood films. I am meeting directors.”
“I am a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and I loved his film My Name is Khan. I want to do a sequel to this film and that will be called My Name is Jackman and I am not a tourist,” Jackman continued, referencing the film’s tag line, “And I am not a terrorist.”
Aside from being a cultural ambassador, Jackman is also very smart. India’s Bollywood industry is gargantuan, with its films earning around a billion dollars a year. It’s not like he’s a stranger to dancing and singing, either; he did it for months on end with The Boy From Oz musical and at the Oscars. There might be a slight problem with the language barrier, but as more and more of the films incorporate English, we’re sure he won’t have that much of a problem. Besides, as he says “Bollywood is cool.”
Can’t argue with that logic.
