The Blob’s premiere and most beloved live-action comedy duo throughout most of the decade was Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, who first found each other on sketch series All That, before moving on to their own standalone show Kenan & Kel.
Though the duo was immensely popular on the network, their careers took distinctively different trajectories after they parted – famously both auditioning for the same slot on Saturday Night Live, a role that Kenan won.
Whilst Kenan has been a mainstay on SNL for over a decade now, Kel has largely spent his post-Nick years in smaller, less acclaimed roles.
Still, there’s barely a nostalgia mine that hasn’t been mined by Jimmy Fallon, and thus the Tonight Show host dropped a huge bombshell in reuniting the pair for a sketch back at the ole’ Good Burger, with Kel reprising his old role as bumbling cashier Ed.
If they’d gotten Kenan to ask Kel to grab 900 hard boiled eggs, a slingshot, a chainsaw, and meet him on the roof, my brain might have caved in.
