Cheeky Munchkin Grant Denyer To Host Aussie Version Of ‘Game Of Games’

It was pretty bloody brutal when we all found out Channel 10 axed our fave day time entertainment show, Family Feud. Most of all, we felt sorry for host Grant Denyer. Where would he show off his superpower ability of smiling-widely-for-an-hour-straight, now?

But like a phoenix rising from its ashes, Denyer has returned to host the Australian version of Ellen’s Game of Games – the y’huge TV show originating from the US from none other than Ellen DeGeneres.

Denyer, who just got nominated for a Gold Logie, is on a hot roll after everything seemed to be going to shits just three weeks ago when Ten announced the cancellation.

If you don’t watch The Ellen Show, Game of Games is pretty much the supersized version of all her little game segments plus some cheeky new ones. Games include Blindfolded Musical Chairs, Danger Word, Don’t Leave Me Hanging, In Your Face, Honey, and Dizzy Dash.

In the latter, questions are asked, people are spun, then contestants dizzy-run to answer questions.

You can give it a peep below:

(Not a good idea to watch if you just ate something or are prone to motion sickness.)

Contestants are also randomly picked from the audience.

Per the Herald SunTen is reportedly building “the biggest set in its history to accommodate games including Master Blaster which sees contestants blasted into the air on bungee cords.”

Well, alrighty then.

The US version, which premiered earlier this year, has already been renewed for season two.

Today, Australia’s Game of Games sent out its first ever tweet to announce the news:

“We are thrilled to announce that Gold Logie nominee @grantdenyer will host our big new family entertainment series.”

As you can see by the show’s twitter handle, our version’s just chopped off Ellen’s name from the title but how good would major alliteration be? Grant’s Game of Games.

It’s meant to be friends, it’s meant to be.

No word yet on a release date but we’ll keep you in the loop.
