Grant Denyer Just Rinsed His I’m A Celeb Co-Stars & I Had No Idea He Was Capable Of Such Shade

Of all the contestants on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Grant Denyer is the last one I’d expect to be shady, but he’s just ripped into his co-stars and I’m bloody living for it.

Speaking to TV Week, the popular telly personality revealed that he regretted signing on for I’m A Celeb the moment he met the other contestants and fucking ouch.

“When I arrived, I was like, ‘I’ve made the wrong decision,’” he told the mag.

“It hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought, ‘Oh, my God – I can’t be here around the clock with these fame-seekers bouncing off the walls busting to be on camera. This is going to kill me.’”

However, as time went on, Grant Denyer says that he and his co-stars realised that they all needed each other in order to survive in the jungle (and by jungle, I mean the outback as the series is filmed in Dungay near Murwillumbah, NSW due to COVID).

“If we didn’t do that, the show would have smashed us and we would have walked out in droves,” he says. “It was that harrowing.”

Grant Denyer added that being on the show is “a thousand times harder” than he thought it would be as the challenges are way tougher.

“I thought most of it was just made for television,” he said. “As it turns out, it’s not. You’re starving, you’re exhausted, you’re being punished every single day with some ridiculous challenge to frighten the life out of you, and you’ve just got nothing left in the tank to fight back.”

Grant Denyer said that a huge positive of being on the show is that he’s lost “heaps” of weight.

“I’ve lost seven kilos off my tiny frame,” he said. “That’s probably the only benefit to going in there.”

At the end of last year, I spoke to host Dr. Chris Brown about potentially recruiting one of the more famous faces currently in Australia like honorary Aussie Zac Efron and he was totally down for it.

“I really see the jungle as the perfect place for pop culture heroes and villains along with news makers and sports stars to duke it out for jungle glory,” the celebrity vet told me.

“Having said that, I wouldn’t say no to a Hemsworth, an Efron, Kidman or a Crowe and hey, they are already locals to the area so they would fit right in.”

I’m A Celeb continues tonight at 7:30 on Ten.
