FX Launches In Australia With Zombie Apocalypse

A gore-free primer before we get to the BBBRRRAAAIIINNNSSS. FX is a new channel launching on Australian pay TV services later this month and is related to but not identical to the American cable network which bought us perennial Emmy contenders Sons of Anarchy, Justified and Damages as well as what most people regard as the most interesting and diverse comedy slate on television (see: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Louie, The League, Wilfred, Archer). In short, their FXcellent. Argh, terrible.

Anyways, the Aussie version launches February 26th with a truncated and drama-heavy slate headlined by Justified (Timothy Olyphant shoots a bunch of people in the head/chest, is super dashing while doing so) The Walking Dead (BRRAAAIIINNNSSS) and AMC period drama Hell on Wheels.

To celebrate, FX will stage a zombie apocalypse type thing tomorrow in Sydney and Melbourne with prizes on offer for those following the FX Twitter account. If that’s the kind of thing you’re into, check out the details below then prepare yourself with this heartwarming super cut of every zombie death on the show thus far.

Seasons one and two of The Walking Dead will premiere back-to-back with double, ad-free episodes every Tuesday 8:30pm AEDT with a sneak peek at the feature length pilot airing on Sunday February 26 at 8:30pm AEDT to launch the channel.
