Donald Glover’s Hip Hop Sitcom Got a Pilot Order from FX

Around the middle of last year, the FX network announced that it was collaborating with very funny person Donald Glover on his next project – there has been little news since then, but today, things finally seem to be moving forward.
Per a report in Uproxx, the series will be called Atlanta, and will take place in and around the city’s hip hop community:
“Atlanta revolves around two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy. Glover will play “Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks,” a college drop-out who reconnects with his long buried ambition and sets out to seize the life he imagined for himself when his estranged cousin becomes a sudden star.”
FX has a strong comedy track record, with shows like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, You’re The Worst, Archer, Louie and The League, while Glover was a writer for 30 Rock before starring on the beloved Community
Hopefully the pilot gets picked up and we all get a lot more Donald Glover in our lives very soon.
