Since quitting her international modeling career five years ago, fresh faced Perth beauty Gemma Ward has been building up her acting repertoire into an impressive portfolio of appearances in acclaimed local films such as The Black Balloon and high profile Hollywood flicks like The Strangers. In her next big screen role Ward stars opposite Johnny Depp and her Aussie compatriot Geoffrey Rush in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which will premiere this May at the Cannes Film Festival.
The first official promotional stills of Ward playing Tamara Queen of the Mermaids have been released giving us a taste of the young actress’s character and styling in the Pirates of the Caribbean saga i.e. absurdly beautiful, appropriately ethereal and possibly nude mer-child.
‘Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides’ is due to be released worldwide on the 19th of May, 2011.
