Ewan McGregor Signs On To Star As Two Brothers In ‘Fargo’ Season 3

One of the main reasons we love Fargo is that it mixes things up every season, and the third one is shaping up to be a cracker, with Ewan McGregor signing on to star in the dual roles of two brothers.
The basic ‘movie star does premium cable series’ story is so commonplace now that you need something a little extra to set you apart from the pack, and it sounds like Fargo is onto a winner with this idea.
The third season of the show will time-jump forward to a time period closer to the present day, and will take on “selfie-oriented culture.” According to Deadline, McGregor will play the roles of Emmit and Ray Stussy. Per their description:

“Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, he sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, on the other hand, is more of a cautionary tale. Balding and pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, he has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames Emmit for his misfortunes.”
No other actors have yet been cast, but the creators haven’t ruled out characters from previous storylines returning.
The new season is set to start filming later this year, and will premiere in 2017.
