‘Days Of Our Lives’ Just Fired Its Entire Cast, In A Bold But Definitely Not Beautiful Twist

Beloved soap opera Days Of Our Lives, a true staple of every child’s day when pulling a sickie from school, is going through what seems to be some real drama behind the scenes, with reports today that the entire cast has essentially been let go.

Who knows what’s even happening on Days Of Our Lives anymore? Is the Salem Serial Killer still on the loose? Is the bloke with the eye patch still kicking around? Did the murdered twink come back from the dead, or was that The Young And The Restless?

That’s neither here nor there at this point, as production on the long-running show will reportedly go on hiatus at the end of this month, with three separate actors all confirming to The Wrap that they’ve been released for their current contracts.

Days Of Our Lives routinely takes a two to three month hiatus from shooting each year, with enough episodes stored up to last for months. At present, it is expected that production will begin again in March of 2020, but it’s unknown whether this will happen.

An unnamed actor reckons that the producers are planning to renegotiate contracts, which means that anyone who does return would likely have to take a sizeable pay cut.

That said, there has been no comment on contract negotiations or a possible renewal form NBC, Sony or Corday Productions, the people behind the show.

Days Of Our Lives has been on the air since 1965, so if it does end its run in 2020, that’ll be a 55-year run, which is pretty impressive for any series. We’ll just have to wait and see and try not to get buried alive or pushed off any cliffs in the interim.
