Cashed-Up Charity Bidder Buys Space Flight With Leonardo DiCaprio

An anonymous bidder’s dropped some fat stacks on a space flight with Leonardo DiCaprio.
DiCaprio’s space travel buddy spent $1.6 million for a Virgin Galactic flight with the actor, who offered the experience to raise money for AmFAR, a nonprofit AIDS research organization.
The trip was one of several big-ticket items at the auction, which also sold off a painting by Pablo Picasso, a 1967 Andy Warhol painting of Marilyn Monroe and a fossil covered in steel by contemporary artist Damien Hirst which sold for $US15 million.
It’s the second time Leo’s put a space flight up for sale at the AmFAR auction; last year it was snapped up by Russian property mogul Vasily Klyukin, who paid $1.5 million for the experience. Guess Leo just liks making small talk while looking at the stars?
