One lucky bidder at a charity auction in Cannes is $280,000 poorer, and yet in a less tangible sense, far, far richer, for the fact that they will soon be spending a night on a yacht with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Per reports in Variety, this only slightly creepy one-percenter transaction went down at the recent amfAR Cinema Against AIDS auction in Cannes, so it was totes for a good cause.
The trip includes dinner, but it’s unclear whether Leo will be rolling with a posse of models, as is fairly customary for him, or flying solo. It definitely won’t be awkward in the slightest for all concerned.
In what is only a slight burn on Leo and his self-worth, a Banksy from his own personal collection, showing a police officer with a yellow smiley face, sold for a cool $1 million, more than three times as much as the cruise.
Leo did not take the stage while his company was being auctioned off, and instead, chose to remain at his table with OG Fergie Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson.
Per Variety’s report, he “wore a ponytail and smoked an e-cigarette while drinking a glass of white wine.”

The night raised a total of $30 million for AIDS/HIV research, with an 18-foot-tall Jeff Koons sculpture selling for $13 million, and a collection of dresses from Tom Ford and Eva Longoria taking $900,000.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Marion Cotillard, Michael Fassbender, Sienna Miller, Chris Tucker, Michelle Rodriguez, Harvey Weinstein, Kendall Jenner, Isabella Rossellini, Kenneth Cole and Paris Hilton were present, and you were not. Bye.
