Boozy Brissy Arcade Netherworld Is Throwing A Huge Star Wars Day Party

Probably the best achievement of the 2010s is that we live in a time where it’s OK to both be a nerd and also to party. Previously, the world was divided into those two strict camps: the nerds and the people who were getting shitfaced while the nerds were busy playing Rolemaster in a basement somewhere.
But no more – nerds are allowed to party, and the people that like to party are allowed to be nerds. Love ‘Star Wars‘? Of course you do. Love getting tanked with your mates? Hell fuck yeah. If you’re in Brisbane and you have half a mind to combine those two deep passions of yours, arcade / pinball / board game / booze wizards Netherworld are throwing a yuge party to celebrate Star Wars Day (May the 4th, you get it).
In addition to some very on point ‘Star Wars‘ themed beers (Holgate Brewhouse‘s Millenium Falcon Double IPA, Noisy Minor‘s Admiral Ackbar Anti-Imperial Red Ale and Bounty Hunter Brewing Company‘s The Solo Contract), there’s also a huge themed menu:

They’ve also got a bunch of ‘Star Wars‘ arcade cabinets, including two of these sit-in 1983 Death Star trench run cabinets:

On top of all that, there’ll be prize packages given out to the five best dressed costume-wearers (of course you want to wear a costume, you huge nerd) and local nail artist Kawaii Klaws will be doing ‘Star Wars‘ nail art so you can accessorise yourself while having a cheeky beer.
It’s free entry and it all kicks off tomorrow evening at 6pm at Netherworld Arcade at 186 Brunswick Street (on the corner of St Paul’s Terrace), get amongst it. You can check out more details here.
