Billie Eilish has been accused of racism after a series of old videos have resurfaced on TikTok and Twitter, which appear to show her using racial slurs.

TikTok user @lcxvy created a compilation of old Billie Eilish videos, claiming that the artist has used racist slurs in the past. In the TikTok video, which edits and cuts a series of three videos together, it is alleged that Eilish used the word ‘ch*nk’, as well as mocking an Asian accent.

It is also alleged that Eilish has a history of using AAVE (African American Vernacular English) and that her brother has called her out on it on Instagram live.

You can watch the video below, however, it’s not clear from the heavily-edited TikTok when or in what context the videos were taken.

Alongside this, folks online have collectively called out Eilish’s boyfriend Matthew Tyler Vorce, who they claim has a history of racist, homophobic and fatphobic tweets.

It is alleged that Vorce tweeted that Adele was a “British Miss Piggy”, as well as using racist and homophobic slurs to talk with his friends on social media comments.

After old tweets from Vorce resurfaced, he posted an apology onto his Instagram for his “language”, taking full responsibility for his actions.

“I want to apologise for the things that I wrote on social media in the past,” he wrote.

“The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are. Whether it was a lyric, a quote, or just me being dumb, it does not matter. I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context.

“I shouldn’t have used this language in any context. It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for.”

Naturally, folks online have taken these resurfaced accounts of alleged racism and are calling for fans of Eilish to cease their support for the artist, and withdraw their support.

Some commenters also have made mention of Vorce’s age (29), and how they feel uncomfortable with the fact that he is dating Eilish (19).

Others have made comment about feeling uncomfortable with the entire situation in general. What started with claims of queerbaiting, after Eilish tweeted “I love girls” on a post supporting her latest single, has evolved into uncovering old videos in which racist behaviour is alleged, and it seems like Eilish cannot catch a break in the public eye.

Don’t get me wrong, we should absolutely hold celebrities accountable when they fuck up, or have a history of being racist idiots, but the latest incessant, rabid behaviour towards ‘cancelling’ Eilish feels a little bit strange.

Billie Eilish is yet to comment on the unearthed videos.
