On Wednesday of this week, loose unit Ben Affleck celebrated his 46th birthday, and on Thursday, he kept the party going in the most Ben Affleck way possible, taking Playboy model and rumoured new girlfriend Shauna Sexton to dinner.
The actor was photographed making a late-night exit from popular Japanese restaurant Nobu Malibu with 22-year-old Sexton, a Los Angeles-based vet who has a large Instagram following and was also Playboy’s Miss May 2018.
Affleck punched a durry as he and Sexton left the restaurant and walked to a waiting car, surrounded by security guards.
The Gone Girl star was most recently linked to Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus, but there is speculation that the couple may have gone their separate ways, as they have not been photographed together in a month.
Further fuelling separation rumours is the fact that a moving van was seen outside the actor’s Pacific Palisades home on August 9, although it’s unclear if somebody was moving in or out.
In a further confusing twist, Ben Affleck is still technically married to estranged wife Jennifer Garner, as the two have yet to finalise their divorce.
The two split in 2015, but didn’t file papers until 2017, and this week, a Los Angeles court reprimanded them for taking their time, telling them that if they fail to take the appropriate steps to wind up their marriage, their matter may be dismissed.
There are unconfirmed reports that Garner is dragging her feet on the divorce, because she wants to be reassured that Affleck is clean and sober enough to be a good dad before she signs the papers.
“Jen wanted to give Ben the time and opportunity to work on his health and sobriety,” a source told US Weekly. “She isn’t in a rush. She wants what’s best for the kids.”
