Bless Bella Hadid – she just went through a situation that would terrify the pants off an average Joe Blow like you or me: seeing (and having to work with) an ex you *just* broke up with.
Victoria’s Secret were probably bloody stoked when Bella and her then-boyfriend The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) joined the ranks – the company loooooves a good #RelationshipGoals couple strutting the runway together (see: Adam Levine & Behati Prinsloo).
However, their hopes for an adorable VS-branded smooch were dashed, because the couple called it quits just a couple of weeks before the show.
The poor angel had to walk the glittery runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show yesterday, and had to share the stage with the bloke so, so soon after the break-up.
That’s strong as all hell imo. (But we suppose the ‘running into a recent ex‘ thing is a lot easier when you’re a supermodel with legs for days, wearing expensive & flattering lingerie while walking in a fashion show that exclusively books the world’s most beautiful women. There’s much worse situations, y’know?)
But both Bella and Abel seemed fine on stage, he even serenaded her as she walked down the runway, which has of course already spurred tabloid rumours that they’re getting back together.
This morning, Bella has posted an image to Instagram of her walking the iconic runway with Abel behind her, singing.
She thanks Victoria’s Secret for ‘believing in her’, and also including a big gushy thank you to The Weeknd for his performance.
