After Joyce pissed off an entire country (plus America) over his on-camera threats to euthanise Depp’s dogs, he made the baffling decision to be interviewed by known troll and professional shit-stirrer Kyle Sandilands.
Which, turns out, wasn’t a smart move. Like, at all.
Kyle being Kyle went to fucking town on Joyce, calling him a clown, a wanker, an idiot, a loser, a fool, a joke, an insensitive wanker, a disgrace, and a BLEEEP in the space of two excruciating minutes before Barnaby hung up.
Now, Barnaby Joyce’s office is returning shots, writing both a complaint to Sandilands’ station KISS FM, and a letter to the Australian media watchdog.
The complaint to the station is calling for a public apology over the “stream of verbal abuse, inappropriate referencing, and the lack of courtesies that would normally be afforded to a Minister of the Crown.”
While waiting for their apology, Joyce’s office is trying to get the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to start an immediate investigation over whether the interview breached broadcasting standards.
A spokesperson for KISS FM confirmed they had received correspondence from Joyce’s office, and are responding in accordance with Commercial Radio Australia Codes of Practise and ACMA requirements.
