Azealia Banks Apologised To Elon Musk After All That Weird Shit Went Down

Somewhere in the midst of this week’s #LibSpill was the continuation of this rather strange drama between Tesla CEO Elon Musk, his partner Grimes, and Azealia Banks. Although, much alike all the drama in Australian politics, this weird three-sided thing is seemingly over as Banks has now apologised to Musk in a letter she shared to her Instagram story.

In short, Banks hopped on her Instagram a little while ago angrily claiming she had spent a weekend alone at Musk’s home waiting for Grimes to appear so they could collaborate on a song together. Weirdly, Grimes never showed up so Banks sort of just chilled there, I guess.

Part of her claims has this wild sentence: “Literally been sitting at Elon Musk’s house alone for days waiting for Grimes to show up and start these sessions.”

Who let her in? Where did she sleep? Did she just order UberEats for food? The questions are endless.

Anyway, Gizmodo went ahead and DM’d Musk to suss things out and he replied denying he even knew Banks and that he hadn’t “communicated with her in any way.”

So, there’s that.

Then, earlier this week Banks went ahead and shared a whole bunch of text messages between herself and Grimes – many of which contained some private details about Musk’s shlong. Other texts discussed Musk and 420 and how the “Russians want elon dead”.

Sensing this was a bit of a shit thing to do, Banks took to her Instagram to share an apology letter addressed to Musk which she says was sent to him a few days ago.

First and foremost Banks wrote she was feeling “terrible about everything”.

I guess I could start by apologising for all of the painful events you’ve endured over the past week, as I feel as though my actions have largely exacerbated them.

It’s important you know that I came to your home without a single intention other than finishing a series of tracks with “”[Grimes], – who I’d been in correspondence with since sometime around June and July.

Over the time spent liaising said collaborations, I was welcomed to a lot of personal information about you. The stuff made me feel awkward and uncomfortable about being privy to, yet I never had any intentions of ever using the information against you. What started off as a cat-fight lead so some seriously unexpected consequences and I sincerely apologise.

The letter went on to share Banks’ hopes of meeting Musk in person to “properly and formally introduce” herself.
