Every now and again, we here at PEDESTRIAN.TV find ourselves writing sentences which, while factually correct, have seemingly little connection with reality.

This here is one of them: Tesla chief Elon Musk has denied ever speaking to controversial rapper Azealia Banks, after she launched a furious Instagram Story tirade against Musk’s partner Grimes over an allegedly failed musical collaboration.

Speaking to tech outlet Gizmodo, Musk said he’s never actually met Banks nor “communicated with her in any way”, especially not about her apparent plans to record a song with synthesiser genius and pop enigma Grimes for the Fantasea II: The Second Wave project.

His statement comes after a brief but intense string of comments from Banks, who claimed she was holed up inside the Musk-Grimes residence for days but was ignored by both parties.

“Literally been sitting at Elon Musk’s house alone for days waiting for Grimes to show up and start these sessions,” Banks wrote in a now-disappeared Instagram Story.

“I have no idea when she is coming back. I’m going to wait one more day then I’m going to go home.”

More furious messages followed, including insinuations that waiting at the residence was like living through Get Out, a wild allegation that the delay in their planned collaboration was due to acid use, and a screed about Musk’s alleged actions being rooted in colonialism.

It’s a lot. We just want 2018 to be over now, thanks.
