Australian Celebrities Discuss Their Favourite Films Of 2013

As we have now entered the seventh circle of box office purgatory known as January-February – the typically shitty slate of films released before the reverberant three-point landings of the tentpole summer blockbusters arrive but after the awards show hopefuls have put their cases forward (in cinemas now: Last VegasRobocopAre We Officially Dating?) – now is as good a time as any to catch up on the films we may have missed last year.

To help you differentiate between the magic and the tragic of last year we asked film literate AACTA attendees including David Michod (Animal Kingdom director), Tasma Walton (Mystery Road), Rove McManus (Rove McManus), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), David Wenham (The Turning, 300, Lord Of The Rings), Lachy Hulme (Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch War, Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War), Bindi Irwin (Growing up before our eyes), Delta Goodrem (The Voice), Sarah Snook (Not Suitable For Children, Sleeping Beauty), Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek, Snakes on a Plane) and Deborah Mailman (The Sapphires) to divulge their favourite films of last year. Here’s what they suggested.
