Ashton Kutcher-Starring Steve Jobs Biopic Set For April Release

Open Road Films has announced that the long-awaited Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS, starring Ashton Kutcher, will be released on April 19 this year. The film will focus on the life of the Apple co-founder, documenting his early hallucinogenically-assisted tech days in the 1970s up to his return to the company in 2001.

jOBS, directed by Joshua Michael Stern, will close the Sundance Film Festival as an out-of-competition premiere this Sunday. Festival director John Cooper praised the film and described Ashton Kutcher’s performance as “quite remarkable” – something that, considering a few of Kutcher’s previous acting efforts (we’re looking at you, What Happens In Vegas), is quite remarkable in itself!

“It’s a very formidable performance, and it seemed like he really tried to grasp all the nuances of who Steve Jobs was,” Cooper said.

No trailer as yet, but Kutcher looks remarkably similar to Jobs in the movie still below which is a good start.

Update: And now there’s a clip.
