Fassbender, Kate Winslet Cast In Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs Biopic

As they say, if it is broke, you should go ahead and bloody well fix it; Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle have thus taken heed and are taking a crack at a Steve Jobs biopic, because I just don’t know Ashton. Ya just didn’t kill it.

The ingeniously-titled Jobs has been on the cards for a while now, well before ~the other~ Jobs was released in 2013. Back in 2012, we reported that Aaron Sorkin’s script is based on Walter Isaacson‘s biography and focuses on just three major scenes, but little solid development beyond that tidbit has been reveled until today. Rather, the production on ~the new~ Jobs has been hugely back and forth: the biopic was originally led by director David Fincher, but has since been taken over by the magnificent Danny Boyle (weeping at the fallen potential of another Sorkin-Fincher dream team tho), Sony has pulled out of the production, and both Leonardo Di Caprio and Christian Bale have been rumored, confirmed and then cancelled as the film’s lead.

This week, however, filming has commenced on ~the new~ Jobs, which thus confirms and locks down its cast, for real this time. Dream cast alert: Danny Boyle will be directing Sassy Fassy as the eponymous Steve Jobs, Seth Rogen will be taking on the role of the other Steve, Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels will be playing former Apple CEO John Sculley, and perfect angel Kate Winslet will undoubtedly deliver a flawless performance as Apple’s marketing chief Joanna Hoffman. The film will follow the product launches at three major Apple events: the iMac, the acquisition of NeXT and the iPod.

While I’m a bit skeptical of Fassbender’s likeness to Steve Jobs, honestly, if Ashton Kutcher can pull it off, it’ll be a goddamn piece of cake for Fassy. If only he were less heinously handsome. Dude’s gonna slay.
