Influencers are really having a time of it with iso in place. Gone are their travel opportunities, their outfit spon posts in beautiful locations, and all those events to be seen at.
So it seems hilarious to me that someone decided to take all their old thirst traps and turn them into sketches for an adult colouring in book.
That’s exactly what Sam Holt, Sydney-based artist, has done with his book Take Me Back.
It’s very much taking the piss, as you can see from the blurb.
With every inspired turn of the page, with every inspired stroke from your inspired choice of coloured pencil, you will be re-inspired by these truly inspiring people.
Sam told us he had the thought after talking to a mate when COVID-19 lockdown really hit full force.
I said to a friend “What the hell are all these influencers going to do without the Amalfi Coast?” Then I just started drawing, seeing them illustrated soundly makes it that much funnier.
He also said in part, it’s about trying to adapt and survive in an economy that’s gone to shit.
All of my arts education work and art sales have gone out the window unfortunately, like most of my friends in the arts and hospitality industries. So while I’d love your support, please reach out to all artists you like – maybe commission or buy a small piece of art, or buy a band t-shirt. Every little bit means a hell of a lot.
The book will set you back $24, but features 58 (!!) different thirst traps for you to colour in.
