Adam Sandler Leads The 32nd Annual Razzie Race With Most Nominations Ever

On the eve of the Academy Awards it’s important not only to take a moment and contemplate the year’s finest achievements in motion picture arts and sciences (whatever that means), or more importantly speculate on who will wear what on tomorrow’s red carpet, but to acknowledge that not every moment in cinema is one worth saluting with a golden statuette named Oscar. Thankfully we have the 32nd Annual RAZZIE Awards to salute the truly terrible outpouring of cinematic shit that Hollywood pummels us with the other 364 days of each year.

Put on your chaps because we’re going for a ride on a really, really high horse.

Not surprisingly, Adam Sandler leads the charge with a record for the most RAZZIE nominations in a single year, racking up a swagger of shameful ‘Worst In Film‘ nods for his work as an actor, producer and screenwriter, doubling up on Eddie Murphy’s old record of five nods. Cross-dressing, fat suit vehicle Jack & Jill received 12 noms (that’s more nominations than there are awards categories) including Worst Film, Worst Actor for Sandler, Worst Supporting Actress for Katie Holmes (is she still making movies? Suri’s Burn Book, “a study in Suri and the people who disappoint her”, would have a field day on this), as well as Al Pacino (proven actor’s actor and bad decision maker) getting a nod for Worst Supporting Actor. Sandler also gets a nod for Worst Actress on account of the gender bending. Giddy up, high horse – it’s just too much.
