Two London Attackers Identified As Investigation Into Third Continues

Two of the three men who perpetrated the deadly van and knife terror attack in London have been identified by police, with one of them previously appearing in a documentary about jihadis in Britain.

Khurum Shazad Butt, 27, and Rachid Redouane, 30, perpetrated Saturday night’s attack, which left seven people dead and dozens wounded. Both were shot dead by police responding to the incident.

Authorities are still working to determine the identity of the third attacker.
In 2016, Butt was briefly shown in the film The Jihadist Next Door. Footage captured him praying in front of the distinctive black flag sometimes used by groups such as Islamic State.
Butt was known to police prior to the attack, however MI5 says they had “no intelligence to suggest that this attack was being planned.” Redouane, a pastry chef, was not known to authorities.
After the incident, police extended their scope for identifying potential attackers. Currently, there are 500 investigations covering 3,000 suspects.
