There’s not a soul among us who hasn’t gone the extra mile to ensure a cold and delicious bevvie finds its way into our hands, but this bloke absolutely takes the cake.
CCTV footage has captured the moment a man in the UK was struck by an out-of-control double-decker bus in Reading, England – and the moment after, when he dusted himself off and walked straight into the pub.
Simon Smith was crossing the road – zero guesses why – when he was struck from behind and flung about 6 metres.
Incredibly, he walked away with only minor injuries. CCTV footage shows Smith standing up, dusting himself off, and walking straight into the nearby Purple Turtle, which he just happened to land right outside of.
According to the owner of the Purple Turtle (wow, get a real name), Mr Smith was later transferred to hospital, but still managed to survive the accident with just a bit of bruising.
His wife isn’t too happy.
“He’s suffering,” she told the Telegraph. “He’s on a lot of pain, he shouldn’t be here.” We’re assuming by ‘here’ she means ‘the hospital’, but tbqh she could also be referring to the the Purple Turtle and we wouldn’t blink.
The pub was uninjured.

No arrests have yet been made, but the driver of the bus has been “taken off the road” pending an internal investigation by Reading Buses. Thames Valley Police are also investigating.
