Adele’s Handwritten Note Hidden In Programme Hints This Tour Was Her Last

A hand-written note published in the programme for Adele’s show at London’s Wembley Arena has hinted at some pretty terrible news for the planet. Well, it seems like bad news for the planet, minus Adele herself and the members of her immediate fam.

The pop juggernaut revealed “I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again” after her current run of stadium gigs, which cap off an insane 18-month-long trek in support of her record 25.
“So this is it,” the note begins.

“After 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end.

“We have taken this tour across UK + Ireland, throughout Europe, all over America and I finally got to go to Australia and New Zealand too.

“Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is!

“I’ve done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done.

“I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live.

“And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.

“Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life. Love you. Goodnight for now.”

That’s pretty convincing proof that she’s absolutely donezo, and to be honest, it’s hard to blame her. 123 shows of that magnitude would probably be enough to convince anyone to put their goddamn feet up.

The last few concerts themselves have provided more evidence to support the idea she’s calling time on her touring career. The Wembley shows have been given the moniker The Finale, and her legendary on-stage chatter supported the concept of an Adele away from the stage.
She said she’s keen to get back to “smoking fags and drinking whiskey”, but more than that, she’s ready to “be a mum for a bit”.
After telling the 98,000-strong crowd that she won’t stop creating heart-punching pop epics, Adele again said “I might never see you again at a live show — who knows — but I will remember this for the rest of my life.”
We’re willing to bet the thousands upon thousands of fans who caught her during her Australian tour won’t be forgetting either. And, to Adele herself: pour yourself a dram, mate. Fair effort.
