‘Walking Dead’ Stunt Man Dies In Fall, Production Temporarily Halted

Stunt man John Bernecker has died following a fall on the set of the AMC series The Walking Dead, causing the network to “temporarily” shut down production on the eighth season of the hit show.
On Wednesday, Bernecker fell from an eight-meter-high balcony while filming a scene on set in Georgia, suffering blunt force trauma. He was placed on life support in an Atlanta hospital, but did not survive his injuries.
Walking Dead cast-mate Jeffrey Dean Morgan posted a tribute to Bernecker on social media, offering love and respect and saying that the stunt man will be “forever missed”:
AMC made a statement to media following his fall, saying:
“We are saddened to report that John Bernecker, a talented stuntman for The Walking Dead and numerous other television shows and films, suffered serious injuries from a tragic accident on set. He was immediately transported to an Atlanta hospital, and we have temporarily shut down production. We are keeping John and his family in our thoughts and prayers.”
In addition to The Walking Dead, Bernecker had worked on Logan, The Fate Of The Furious and the upcoming Black Panther, as well as films like Get Hard, This Is The End and 22 Jump Street.
