David Cross, Wil Arnett Reunite For New Sitcom

While the official Arrested Development reunion has hit various snags on its journey to the silver screen (and our hearts), the show’s perennial scene stealing buddies Wil Arnett and David Cross are set to reunite one way or another – after Arrested producers Mitch Hurwitz and Jim Vallely prepare to unveil their latest comedy ‘Running Wilde’.

‘Running Wilde’ stars Arnett as Steve Wilde – a self-obsessed, wealthy playboy trying to court bleeding-heart humanitarian Emily Kadubic (Keri Russell from Felicity), told from the perspective of Puddle, Emily’s 12-year-old daughter. David Cross will appear in seven of the 13 episodes as the character of Andy, a radical environmentalist who is also Emily’s fiancée. Arnett as a wealthy self-obsessed playboy and Cross as a radical environmentalist? Whaaa-?!?

Meanwhile there could be an official Arrested Development reunion sooner than we thought. In a recent interview with GQ Hurwitz said, “Believe it or not, we have started the script.”

“We’re changing some of the Bush references to Obama because we started it awhile ago. And the Bluths may not be vacationing in the Gulf of Mexico anymore. We also might have to recast the part of Uncle Mel, the former action movie star. But other than that we have a clear path.”

Running Wilde is expected to premiere on September 21.
