‘Arrested Development’ Season 5 Has Been Confirmed So Taste The Fkn Happy

Right now, we feel like Michael Bluth peering into that fabled paper bag: after it was all-but confirmed Arrested Development would return for Season Five, today’s official announcement isn’t exactly a shock.

Unlike the only sane member of that blessed family, we’re fucking stoked.

Series creator Mitch Hurwitz delivered the news that Arrested Development will have its fifth outing on Netflix, and that all of the series’ mainstays will return.
Yep: Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, David Cross, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale and Alia Shawkat are all back on deck. Ron Howard is also returning as narrator, thank Christ.
Hurwitz’ statement dipped into satirical territory, as he reckoned “we all felt that that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business — and their desperate abuses of power — are really underrepresented on TV these days.”

Considering the Bluth’s recent wall-building schemes, that wink-and-a-nod connection was probably also to be expected.

Season Five is expected to be released sometime next year.
