Hear An Excerpt From David Sedaris’ New Book

Another fantastic exclusive from the folk at NOWNESS, this time an audio book excerpt from David Sedaris’ forthcoming fable collection, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary. For those lucky enough to attend his Australian book tour back in January, audiences were treated to an early version of Sedaris’ turtle, toad and duck fable and in “The Migrating Warblers” (listen here) an endearing cast of deeply flawed but oh-so-familiar anthropomorphic fauna are again used to illuminate the foibles of human nature.

He’s devastatingly funny as always and for the first time since his uproarious ’94 debut Barrel Fever, we’re offered a new vehicle for Sedaris’ voice outside of that self-deprecating/candid/humorous essay niche that he single-handedly popularized all those years ago, launching a million aspiring humourists and a new non-fiction sub-genre in the process. Not that we’re complaining though, that genre is positively full of gems.

You can pre-order Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk here and watch a trailer below…
