Malcolm Turnbull Threw Some Fantastic Abbott Shade On ‘Q&A’

Tony Abbott‘s decision to sack chief whip Philip Ruddock in the wake of last week’s leadership spill has drawn a lot of heat, and Malcolm Turnbull joined the pile-on during a fairly incredible performance on Q&A overnight.

The Communications Minister spoke on a broad range of topics, including human rights, but his response to the question of whether Ruddock’s sacking was a mistake drew fits of laughter from the audience and much of the panel.
“Look, Tony Abbott, as Philip said, is entitled to appoint and replace the chief whip as and when he wishes, that’s his call, but I have to say, I was very sad to see the announcement,” he said, speaking about the decision.
“I’m not going to run a commentary on the Prime Minister’s decisions,” he said. “He didn’t consult me, I don’t know who he consulted, he is the boss, he is the captain, he can make a captain’s call.” SHADE.
