U2 Concert Cancelled After Off-Duty Cop Forgets He’s Packing Heat

The band you least want on your iPhone, otherwise known as U2, have been forced to cancel a gig in Sweden, after a guy who was really barred up hard to hear some mid-tempo guitar rock forgot to leave his gun at home.
On Sunday night, fans who had already taken their seats were evacuated from an arena in southern Stockholm, while hundreds still queueing outside were turned away, with organisers citing “technical issues” as the reason.
Fans reported that, as they left the venue, security guards were seen sweeping the area around the stage. It’s unclear whether they found what they were looking for, but details soon emerged:

According to Sweden’s Aftonbladet newspaper, the incident began when it became known to guards that a man with a gun had been let into the arena after showing the weapon at the security checks.

The tabloid wrote that the man had been allowed to enter after claiming he was an off-duty police officer and had forgotten to leave his gun at work.

Later on Monday reports emerged in Swedish media suggesting that an officer was facing an internal probe over the incident.
So there you have it. If you’re planning to go to a U2 show – or really any kind of concert, let’s not be picky here – then leave your gun at home, dummy.
U2’s show has been rescheduled to Tuesday night.
