Fans of U2 are about to be even more excited about their pending Australian tour this December because it’s just been announced that Jay-Z has been confirmed as the support act. Holla. The last time U2 did the rounds down under they brought Kanye West along for the ride, so naturally the only way to one-up themselves was getting Hova on board.

Concert promotion company Live Nation in collaboration with Michael Coppel are presenting the show; and back in April when Live Nation launched in Australia we predicted/speculated that an Australian appearance by Jay-Z might be on the cards as one of the artists who brokered a deal with the company back in 2008 ($152 million for 10 years).

Tickets go on sale Friday 3 September.

Wednesday 1st December – Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
Wednesday 8th December – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

Saturday 18th December – Subiaco Oval, Perth
