If there’s one thing you can count on at Christmas, it’s that a bunch of world leaders are going to broadcast festive messages of gratitude, love and hope to the world. Generally, they’re nothing to get excited about – except when it’s President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama. When it’s these two champs, you watch the hell out of their message, fighting back salty little tears of joy and sadness as you go.
I could go on forever about all the best parts of the Obamas’ final Christmas message, but I’ll boil it down to the most adorbs moments:
- Barack calling Michelle his best friend (you guuuuys!)
- The flashback to their first Christmas message from the White House, where Michelle tries to pull her husband together as he chuckles uncontrollably (can’t… deal…)
- Barack squeezing one more dad joke in before his Presidency ends (*is dead*).
Savour this one real hard, because next year it’s Donald and Melania comin’ at ya.
