Belle Gibson has recently hit headlines after faking having cancer, keeping $300,000 meant for charity, and appearing on 60 Minutes for an alleged fee of $45,000 to tell her story of faking cancer and keeping money that was meant for charity.
After much outrage Australia-wide, she’s finally being thoroughly investigated and was expected in court today to respond to Consumer Affairs queries about her (now admitted to be false) health claims.
Except, Gibson didn’t attend.
Instead, she has turned over her financial records, and replied to a series of health claims. Her court appearance has been averted, and her responses are ‘under consideration’.
