Ricky Gervais‘ David Brent is – hands down – one of the greatest comedic characters of all time. If you don’t agree for whatever ungodly reason, this writer will fight you over it.
The lot of us have been pining for more of his awkward AF interactions since BBC’s The Office wrapped in 2003 and, at long last, Brent is back (or soon-to-be) with the joyful release of Life On The Road later this year.
It picks up 12 years after he was a regional manager for Wernham Hogg paper merchants, as he works as a rep selling cleaning (and ladies personal hygiene) products while simultaneously chasing his dream of becoming a rock star – or more specifically, singer/songwriter for a rock band with the truly terrible name ‘Foregone Conclusion’.
Gervais just dropped the 1st teaser trailer for the movie and it’s a bloody treat, mostly because he feigns fapping in front of three very dismayed co-workers – a classic Brent manoeuvre.
“There’s a party in my trousers, baby, and everybody’s cumin’.”
