Beyoncé Might Play Nala In ‘The Lion King’ Remake & Omg She’d Be Perfection

We’re already losing our shit at the prospect of a live-action Lion King, and now this?!
The next in the string of childhood-endangering Disney remakes (after Cinderella, The Jungle Book and this year’s Beauty & The Beast) will star Donald Glover in the voice role of Simba and James Earl Jones in a reprise of his original Mufasa (it’s voice acting because although they’re calling this “live action”, the film will still feature lions. CGI lions).
And now, according to NME, director Jon Favreau has his heart set on Beyoncé playing the role of everyone weird boy’s favourite furry fantasy (sorry but you know it’s true), lioness love interest Nala.
Would she be perfect for the role? Absolutely. Will she do it? Considering she’s currently pregnant with twins and had to pull out of her Coachella performance – and considering that she’s basically Queen of the World who can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, for sums of money so astronomical mere mortals can’t comprehend them – who knows.
Favreau is reportedly willing to do “whatever it takes” to get Yoncé on board. Fingers crossed “whatever it takes” is a $20 million live action recreation of this scene, starring Bey, Jay-Z, Blue and the twins:
