Grizzly Bear, Feist, Sufjan Stevens, Yeasayer, Arcade Fire Combine!

Yesterday we blogged about an all star cover album in the name of war relief, today we bring you an all star cover album in the name of AIDS awareness.

Masterminded by AIDS awareness group The Red Organization, “Dark Was The Night” brings together a decidedly indie stable of musicians offering covers and originals in the name of philanthropy. I know musicians have pooled their talent for social good since Michael Jackson was (kinda) black, but it is the quality of artist in these two releases that surprises me.

The track list reads like an amalgamation of dream Laneway Festival lineups future, past and present.

You can hear one new track a day from the Dark Was The Night Myspace. So many covers, so little time.
