triple j have launched their most ambitious temperature related list yet, the Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time (as voted by you). To peculate you mind grapes the j’s have today published an “Industry List” birthed from a preferential voting system and a panel of almost 200 musos and industry types who probably know more about Australian music than you/I/we all do. As expected The Avalanches’ monolithic debut Since I Left You took top honours while INXS’ Kick, AC/DC’s Back In Black, You Am I’s Hourly, Daily and Crowded House’s Woodface rounded out the industry voted top five. For those playing at home the most recent entrant was Tame Impala with 2010 debut Innerspeaker while the most frequent was Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds who occupied no less than eight positions on the list.
Voting opens from today (Monday 6 June) til Sunday 26 June. The Hottest Australian Albums Of All Time will broadcast from Monday 4 July – Sunday 10 July. Check out the industry top 100 below then vote here.
