‘Tis the season to compile top ten lists, and Triple J is feeling mighty festive right now.
As is tradition, the nation’s station asked you fine humans to suggest your favourite albums of the year, and head honcho Richard Kingsmill has delivered the results.
Violent Soho took out top spot with their huge record WACO, just beating out Flume’s Skin. Two sides of the same absolutely massive Australian music coin, there.
They’re two of eight Aussie acts to fill the ranks, with only Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool and Frank Ocean’s Blonde standing out from the ‘Strayan crowd. Fair bloody effort, guys.
Scope out the full list right here:
- Violent Soho – WACO
- Flume – Skin
- The Avalanches – Wildflower
- RUFUS – Bloom
- Ball Park Music – Every Night The Same Dream
- Sticky Fingers – Westway (The Glitter & The Slums)
- DMA’S – Hills End
- Radiohead – A Moon Shaped Pool
- King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard – Nonagon Infinity
- Frank Ocean – Blonde
