Karl Lagerfeld is certainly not renowned for being the sweetest fashion doyen on the block, but he’s obviously willing to compromise for the sake of really good ice cream.
Due to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the Chanel and Fendi master’s short films for Magnum Ice Cream utilise two undeniably attractive elements; women and dessert. Repping the former is The Girl Formerly Known As Summer Roberts, Rachel Bilson, who very nearly distracts from the point of the extended commercials entirely.
We particularly like Karl’s clipped German explanations of each of the three films, “How can I get/to my dressing room/as quick as possible/and have an ice cream?” which sounds far more sinister than it actually is. Shot on location in Paris the short clips follows Bilson as she becomes an artist, ballerina and then a model, despite the very obvious fact (which she mentions) that she’s only 5 ft 2.
We’re willing to let that slide just to watch her bite that chocolate outer layer again.
