So Kanye West Responded To That Whole “Wheelchair” Thing

Well, look. For a thing that was relatively a non-event in the first place, this whole saga sure as hell took off.
Probably owing to the fact that he’s just so gosh darned interesting, and due to the fact that our comparatively small country is phenomenally starved of its own celebrity culture, it should come as little surprise when just about everything that Kanye West – Yeezus Almighty himself – does during his brief time on our shores is picked apart and, in some cases, a bit overblown.
Enter the now (mystifyingly) infamous “Wheelchair” incident, in which Yeezy temporarily delayed part of his concert to get confirmation that a pair of seated fans – who defied a previous “All must stand” edict – were in fact wheelchair bound.
The incident, reported everywhere (including here) as being a massive, screaming rant, in reality kind of turned out to be sort of not really that big of a deal. And, hey. We’re a chill bunch, we’re happy to admit we were wrong in reporting it the way we did. It was a misunderstanding that accidentally wound up being kind of a dick move on his behalf, but it certainly weren’t no screaming fit.
We digress. Here’s video from last night’s Brisbane leg on the Yeezus Tour of Kanye having a wee bit of a rant about the media and public perceptions in the wake of the whole ordeal.

He is, after all a “married, Christian man.” A married, Christian man who sees (or at least promotes) himself as something of a God-like figure. But a married, Christian man nonetheless. Whatever that’s supposed to mean in this particular context.
For the record, here’s a video of the original incident that sparked this whole mess that’s since surfaced in the days following the original story breaking.

Again, bit of a dick move. But hardly the huge tantrum it was made out to be.
Personally, I’m more upset at the bro who paid $180 to be in GA Standing who felt it necessary to do his nation proud by yelling “STAND UP YA CUNTZ.” Cheers for that one, cobber.
