In what is clearly an unending source of gift, the saga of Joe Exotic and the Presidential pardon from Donald Trump that never materialised is still rolling on, with the man himself now unloading on the ex-President for not busting him out of the clink.
We reported yesterday that Exotic and his legal team, who had been canvassing Trump for quite some time, were so sure of securing a pardon that would’ve set the Tiger King free that they had a stretch limo on standby to collect him.
But when the list of 143 pardons and commutations was released, Joe Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – wasn’t among it. No pardon for Joe. Lil Wayne and Steve Bannon got pardons. But Joe Exotic did not.
In a tweet posted earlier this morning – one that definitely wasn’t written by his lawyers – Mr. Exotic teed off on ex-President Trump, claiming he is simply far too “innocent” and “gay” to receive a pardon, before levelling accusations of clout-chasing against the prodigal son, Don Jr.

Lawyers for Exotic had reportedly travelled to Washington DC on January 6th to not only stand in support of the Trump Rally that wound up becoming the violent and deadly invasion of the US Capitol Building, but to conduct “high level” meetings regarding their push for a very Exotic pardon.
Confidence in securing his release was so high, in fact, that lawyers not only had the extremely gaudy limo – which you can rent yourself here, just FYI – on standby, but hair, makeup, and wardrobe teams as well.
Joe Exotic is currently one-year into a 22-year prison sentence for attempting to hire a contract killer to murder rival zookeeper Carole Baskin, a deeply insane saga that was documented in the Netflix Tiger King series in early 2020.
Since his conviction on various charges, Exotic has maintained his innocence, claiming the evidence against him comprised of perjured testimony. The Presidential Pardon is but one arm of a multi-pronged legal effort to overturn his convictions.
