Chris Jericho’s Championship Belt Got Stolen While He Was At A Steakhouse, But Like, For Real

Chris Jericho championship belt.

Chris Jericho having his championship belt stolen while was eating at steakhouse definitely, definitely seems like something made up as part of a wrestling storyline, but, according to the Tallahassee Police Department, this is very much a thing that happened.

Jericho won the inaugural All Elite Wrestling World Championship belt only a day prior in Chicago, beating “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW All Out. A police report purportedly about the belt theft states that Jericho left the belt in a rented limousine that Jericho sent back to the airport to swap some mistakenly taken luggage while he ate at a steakhouse. When the limo returned, the belt was missing:

In a video posted by AEW, Jericho — while sitting in a hot tub wearing a scarf and drinking champagne, obviously — announced that he was launching a world-wide investigation into finding the belt. Some of this part might not be real:

AEW is a relatively new player on the wrestling scene, launched only this year. The promotion is owned by the same guy who owns the Jacksonville Jaguars and has New Japan sweethearts Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks all as executive vice presidents.

Good luck getting that belt back, dude.
