The Famous In Love actress has taken to Instagram to reveal that she is working with investigators to track down the man or woman who hacked her phone in an attempt to steal her private pics.

Thorne posted a screenshot of a text message exchange, discussing the case.

“Rest assured my friend we are working on solving this to get you peace of mind!” the sender wrote. “Respecting your wishes to not solicit criminal charges; we’ve had to solicit expert assistance with making 100% sure we have I’d [sic] the correct person responsible for these insensitive invasion of your privacy.”

The sender called the person who allegedly stole the photos “way more sophisticated than we thought” and not a “run of the mill hacker.”

“Getting closer to finding this guy,” she captioned the screenshot.

Thorne’s decision to leak the photos to beat the hacker to the punch led to a mixed response from punters, some backing her decision and others criticising her for taking nude snaps in the first place, like The View’s Whoopi Goldberg.

“If you’re famous, I don’t care how old you are. You don’t take nude pictures of yourself,” Goldberg said during a segment on the popular talkshow.

“Once you take that picture, it goes into the Cloud and it’s available to any hacker who wants it, and if you don’t know that in 2019 that this is an issue, I’m sorry. You don’t get to do that.”

After seeing the clip, Thorne posted a teary video on Instagram, blasting Goldberg for her remarks.

Bella later shared screenshots of texts from mates who supported her in the wake of the backlash, including Zendaya, Lucy Hale and Tyler Posey.

Meanwhile her ex Mod Sun was on Goldberg’s side, agreeing that Bella shouldn’t have taken the photos.

“Whoopi Goldberg said some real shit,” he told TMZ.

Adding, “I ain’t gonna be sending no … crazy pictures no more!”
