The World’s Largest Sandcastle Has Been Built & It’s Asking For A Flattenin’

One of the most satisfying things about going to the beach when you’re a kid is spending hours building a fuck-off sandcastle, then screaming bloody murder when your sibling inevitably body-slams it.

Well, the world’s biggest sandcastle has just been completed in the German city of Duisburg and – at 16.68 metres-high, you’d need the stamina of an ox to take so much as a run at it.

A team of sand artists from 10 countries spent three weeks constructing the sandscaper, which has officially been recognised by the Guinness World Records as the tallest in the whole dang world.

A whopping 3,860 tonnes of sandy stuff were used to built it, which is 1,000 tonnes more than last year, when the good people of Duisburg – some 200km away from the nearest beach – tried and failed to land the world record they now hold after the sandcastle tragically collapsed during construction.

Visitors have already started flocking to the structure, which has carved with iconic architecture from around the world, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Check out the insane level of detail on this thing:

The sandcastle will be on display until September 29, after which time we should put up our collective hands to jump on it to the point of collapse.
