Pro-Camping Aus Beaches To Get Around Before Summer’s All Over, Red Rover

We’ve teamed up with Energy Safe Victoria to make sure y’all have safety front of mind on your road trip and camping experiences this season. If you’re using butane (gas found in small gas heaters and cookers) never ever use it in an enclosed space, ok? That includes your cars and tents. Find out more here.

It’s the last week of Feb, so it’s only natural that you’re freaking out and trying to do all the stereotypical summer bits and bobs while you still can.

Other than swanning about in an infinity pool – the beach, road trips and camping are definitely high on that seasonal bucket list. But because you’re quickly running out of the time (jks, it’s basically summer until April and y’all know that full-well) we’re thinking you should hit those three birds with one stone while you still can.

Behold, a bunch of beaches that are all gravy, baby with you camping on or near them.

TREACHERY CAMP, SEALS ROCKS, NSW

About three-and-a-half hours drive north of Sydney, Treachery Camp at Seals Rocks is almost a rite of passage (there’s always plenty of other young punters around the ground lookin’ for exactly the same thing you are). The camping is situated in bushland, however, the beach is so close and pristine as all heaven. Camping rates are affordable (in both low and peak seasons), and there’s options for lodges and cabins too if that’s more your jam.

RAINBOW BEACH ULTIMATE CAMPING, RAINBOW BEACH, QUEENSLAND

This remote wilderness camp located in Dampier Peninsula will have you, as you can see, right in the thick of it in one of these epic beach shacks. The only difference is that “the thick of it” is actually somewhere you want to be in a place this secluded. Resources are limited here – come prepped.

CAVE BEACH, JERVIS BAY
More info here.

141 kms of Canberra is Cave Beach (not to be confused with Caves Beach near Swansea) and it’s a you beaut – named by Australian Geographic as one of the best secluded beach camping spots in Aus. How cute are these lil’ tide pools? Like a mini bath, only natural. Let’s all go there. Let’s all go there now.

CAMPING AT BRUNY ISLAND, BRUNY ISLAND, TAS
More info here.

Did we mention this one’s pet friendly? You betcha. Even if you don’t have one (*pats you on back in comfort*) you’ll be sharing with fur seals and fairy penguins who’ll keep you company regardless.

PARADISE BEACH CAMPING GROUND, GIPPSLAND LAKES, VICTORIA
More info here.

Located in East Gippsland, the beach is only separated from the campgrounds by a strip of fenced vegetation. Into it. Prepare for total relaxation.

If you’re all buttered up now to go and set up camp, make sure you’re sensible about it fam. If you’re using butane (gas found in small gas heaters and cookers) never ever, ever use it in an enclosed space, ok? It can result in carbon monoxide poisoning and death, and that’s not fun for anyone. Find out more here.
